Lyndal was the second of four children born to Jesse Sanders and Ida (Kirkpatrick) Sanders a little north of Paradise KS. She attended Fort Hays University in Hays KS, training to become a high school teacher in Saline KS.
She married Ben in 1926 in MN and moved with him to WA sometime before the 1930 census, where their children were born. She and Ben divorced sometime before the 1950 census.
