Frank N. "Dutch" Virginia Jr., 78, of Croghan, Lewis County, formerly of Syracuse, died Thursday at Lewis County Extended Care Facility, Lowville.

Mr. Virginia was born in Belle Isle to Frank Virginia Sr and Susie Spencer, he lived in the Syracuse area most of his life. He was employed with Modern Tissue Corp., Amboy, and later Merchants Parcel Service, retiring in 1969.

Mr. Virginia was an Army veteran of World War II.

His wife, the former Verna Faust, whom he married in 1945, died in 1960.

Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne R. Mabie of Syracuse; a stepson, Robert Jacobs of Goleta, Calif.; three sisters, Lucy Cook and Rose Noce, both of Syracuse, and Lillian Madden of Fulton; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Scanlon Funeral Home, Main Street, Croghan, the Rev. Leo Wiley officiating. Burial is in Belle Isle Cemetery, town of Camillus.

There are no calling hours.
