BURLINGTON - Peter Guy Shonio, 66, died early Saturday morning, July 29, 2006.

Peter was born in Jericho on Aug. 31, 1939, the son of Guy and Evva (Gibbs) Shonio. He graduated from High

School in Stowe and from Champlain College in Burlington with a degree in Accounting.

On May 21,1966, Peter married Barbara Lemery in Stowe. Peter and Barbara lived for over 33 years in Milton before moving to Burlington. Barbara died on Feb. 6, 2000.

On Sept. 9, 2000, Peter was united in Civil Union to Lawrence Saltus.

He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Shonio.

Peter was employed as an accountant for Healthco from 1960 to 1982, when he retired due to his muscular dystrophy.

He always enjoyed playing cards and board games, and visiting family and friends when he was able to. He loved to crochet, embroider and do counted cross stitch. He also enjoyed playing the organ and singing hymns. In his later years, he could always be found on his computer.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery in Milton.

Memorials in Peter's name may be made to the MDA, East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, Arizona, 85718.

Visiting hours will be on Monday, July 31, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
