Francis Reed Hulet passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at Wildwood Assisted Living in Wendell, Idaho, with his wife by his side.

He was born Oct 18, 1922, in Driggs, Idaho, to Francis Edgar and Ella Hulet.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Reed spent most of his Childhood and youth helping his father and family with farming and Raising sheep. He attended school in Wendell and graduated from Wendell High School. Reed's father walked him to school on the first day of first grade. Then everyday after that, he and his twin sisters walked to and from school about three miles each way.

After Reed graduated from high school, he spent bout one year working at the Japanese Internment Camp in Hunt, Idaho, after which he joined the U.S. Army in 1942. Reed was an excellent marksman and earned a position in the Army as a scout sharpshooter for his General. He was discharged from the service in 1946, at which time he reurned to his family farm.

Reed met his lifelong companion, Marian Owens on Oct. 18, 1946. They were married and sealed in the Salt Like City Temple in Utah on Feb. 19, 1947. Reed and Marian had nine children. They spent most their lives together farming and raising children. They lived in Wendell for nine years and then moved to American Falls for about three years. Later, they moved to Dietrich for approximately five years and then returned to Wendell for the remainder of their lives.

Reed had several lifelong passions: his family, serving his father in heaven, sheep, horses, hunting and fishing.

Reed is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marian Owens Hulet; eight children and their families, Ken and Mary Hulet of Port Orchard, Darrel Hulet of Shoshone, Idaho; Dean and Linda Hulet of Wendell, Idaho; Charlene and Bill Royce of Jerome, Idaho; Paul and Tess Hulet of Ogden, Utah; Todd Hulet of Dallas, Texas; Russel and Diane Hulet of Farwest, Utah; and Barry and Marjanna Hulet of Pocatello, Idaho. He is also survived by two brothers, Clarence and Donna Mae Hulet of Spanish Fork, Utah; and Grant and Wanda Hulet of Holiday, Utah; three sisters, Maureen and Bill Rappleye of Twin Falls, Idaho; Dorothy and George Pincock of Rigby, Idaho; and Ella Mae Sawyer of Orem, Utah; 32 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Reed was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Ella Hulet; sister, Elise Hulet; son, Oren Lawrence Hulet; and nephew, Lynn Francis.
