Her mother was Mary Etta Hitt b. 9 Jan 1866 Washington Co. Ill.
d. 21 Sept 1905 Tribbey, Pottawatomie Co. Indian Territory Okla.

When both parents died the younger children were given to family members to raise.
Esther Jewell Barbee was adopted by her cousin Benjamin and Anna Barbee and was raised in Tulsa, Okla area.
She married L L Jordan and had two sons, Joe and Dale.
My information was given to me by other Barbee Family Members.
Her older brother Frank James Barbee was my Grand Father.
