John M. Baldwin was the youngest of four known children born to John A. and Sarah (Fuller) Baldwin. His mother died a year or two after his birth between 1873-1875.

Other children born to his parents union were Rachael, James, and Samantha Baldwin. John had 12 half-siblings from his father's second marriage to Delphina Pelky.

John married MRS. Dora (nee Thrift) Spinks on Mar. 27, 1919 at Ottawa, Oklahoma. She was the widow of John Spinks (1853-1913) who died in Miami, Ottawa, OK in June 1913.

JOHN BALDWIN DIES AT OTTAWA HOME

John M. Baldwin, 54 years old, died Friday night at the family home at Ottawa. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Doris Baldwin; three brothers, Fred of Miami, George of Advance, Mo., and Bud of Picher, and six sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller of Ottawa, Mrs. Ella Darnell of Miami, Mrs. Della Wright of Beach Grove, Tex., Mrs. Rilla Reeder of Stuart, Oklah., Mrs. Zora Jones of Douthat and mrs. Nora Bowman of Advance, Mo.

The funeral was held at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Ottawa Baptist church. Burial was in the Ottawa cemetery under the direction of the Cooper Undertaking company.
