Otto is son of Herman Hinrick Claussen and Eliese Marisa Stiegelmeyer Claussen, both born in Germany. On 19 Mar 1919, he married Bertha Martins. Their 3 children, Harvey H (1920), Vera M (1922) and Leta J (1925) were all born in Cass Co IA. He was a farmer who became a carpenter, and moved to San Diego CA in the 1940's. Per his death certificate, for 20 years, he was the superintendent at West Gate Farms. His daughter Leta J Jensen was the informant on the DC.
