Born Oct. 6, 1919, in East Galesburg to Samuel and Ella Woods Bybee, she married Raymond James on June 2, 1937, in Franklin, Tenn. She later married James C. Kling on Oct. 25, 1958, in Rock Island. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joel (Sharon) Leonardson of Naperville, Mrs. Larry (Joyce) Webb of Dahinda and Mrs. David (Rama) Hodam of Bettendorf, Iowa; one son, Larry James of both Paris, France, and Cairo, Egypt; one stepson, Gary Kling of Yates City; one stepdaughter, Melody Wallace of Peoria; four sisters, Dorothy White of Knoxville, Mrs. Willard (Laura) Webb of London, Ky., Mrs. James (Betty Jo) Lewis of Galesburg and Marie Dyer of the state of Washington; two brothers, James L. Bybee of Columbia, Tenn., and Samuel Bybee Jr. of California; nine grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Two sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
She worked at the former Gale Products in Galesburg for 20 years.
She was a member of East Galesburg Community Chapel and Knoxville Women's Club.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home. The Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery.
