Mildred L. Matson of Port Lavaca passed away quietly at home surrounded by her family on August 13, 2016. She was 94 years old.

She was born November 5, 1921 to Joseph S. Neill and Vera L. Miller in Calhoun County.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to cook, garden, fish, travel, and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Stanley M. Matson, of 51 years; two sisters, Emma Jo Warren and Elsie Linne; and one grandchild, Scott Matson.

Visitation services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 5-7pm at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 2pm at Salem Lutheran Church of Port Lavaca with Pastor Dan Zellmer officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
