Bland Dies at Hardyville

SALUDA- Schuyler E. Bland, 58, died suddenly at his home near Hardyville in this county, about 6 o'clock Saturday morning. Mr. Bland did his regular farming work
Friday and arose Saturday morning apparently well. He stooped to tie the small son's shoe and dropped dead.

Mr. Bland was a member of a family long prominent in Middlesex and was a cousin of Congressman S. O. Bland. His father, the late R. Tyler Bland, represented Middlesex county in the House of Delegates for a number of years.

He is survived by his widow, seven daughters, Mrs. R. W. Benjamin, Mrs. Alvin Alvis, Mrs. Horace Talley, Mrs. Leroy Timerlake, Mrs. Heath Burch and Miss Blanche Bland, all of Richmond, an infant daughter, Roberta Bland of Hardyville,
and four sons, Clarence and Peter Bland, Richmond, and Vernon and Vergil Bland, Hardyville. He is also survived by two brothers, H. E. Bland of Stormont, and Chase Bland of Richmond.
