A graveside service for Vernon Earl Greenwood, 68, of Dayton will be 2:00 PM Sunday May 22, 2016 at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.
Mr. Greenwood passed away May 15, 2016 at Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital in Baytown.

He was a native of Silsbee and a longtime resident of Dayton. Mr. Greenwood was retired from Gordon Wyman Steel Mill where he had worked as a mechanic and he served his country proudly in the United States Navy.

Vernon is preceded in death by his father Emmitt Greenwood; mother Mozelle Hawkins Callaway; wife Sarah Pearl Greenwood; sister Sylvia Greenwood Tucker and brother James Greenwood.

Survivors include his longtime companion Donna Tacone of Dayton; daughters Christina Greenwood Mathews and husband Jimmie of Hurst, TX, and Mykela Greenwood of Cypress, TX; step daughters Cathy Faulkner Marshall of Jasper, Tracy Wilson and husband John of Conroe, and Beth James and husband Chris of Timpson, TX; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
