Mrs. Alma Jeffries Johns, age 78, passed away on May 13, 2016.

She was a native of the Mississippi Delta the daughter of the late Jack Jeffries and the late Alice Ellis Jeffries.

Alma is survived by her husband of 59 years, Billy David Johns; two sons, Jeffrey Johns of Madison, MS and Jason Johns of Flowood, MS; two grandchildren, Hunter Johns, Danielle Creel and a sister, Mary Alice Mabry.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johns is also preceded in death by her brother, William Jeffries.

Mrs. Johns retired after 43 years from the State of Mississippi Employment Security Commission where she worked as an auditor. A member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, she was Missions Director for the Hinds and Madison Baptist Association and spent much of her life being active in Christian Mission Programs. Most recently she was a founding member of the Baptist Prison Ministries at CMCF.

The family will receive friends at Natchez Trace Funeral Home on Tuesday May 17, 2016 from 1:00pm until 2:30pm with a service to follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
