Mr. James (J.W.) Hardin, born June 7, 1924, age 91, of Newport, went to be with the Lord Monday, May 2, 2016 at Newport Medical Center.

Mr. Hardin retired from Quaker Company in 1985. He was a member of Edgemont Church of God and attended regularly until his health problems prevented him from attending.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Ada Lou Allen Hardin, son Donald Ray Britt, father James R. Hardin mother Irene Steele Hardin, brother Jessie ‘Linda’ Hardin, sisters Hazel Hardin, Violet Hardin ‘Jack’ Calfee, Marie Hardin ‘Allen’ Thomas and Agnes Hardin ‘James’ Miles.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Staff of Brookdale Assisted Living.

The funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, May 4, 2016 in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Hatley and Rev. Wayne Haney oficiating.

Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning, May 5, 2016 at Union Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment.

The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m.until 7:00p.m. Wednesday evening prior to the service.
