Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ann Hawkins Davis, 73, 063 Lowell Ave. who died Tuesday at 9:40 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital, will be conducted Friday noon at 36 E. 7th South.

Mrs. Davis was an active member of the LDS church, serving in various organizations of the church and a prominent Red Cross worker. She was born Nov. 25, 1872 at Ogden, a daughter of William Edward and Margaret Thomas Hawkins. Her father came across the plains with a handcart company.

On May 25, 1891, she was married in the Logan LDS temple to William Gomer Davis. Until 1910 she resided in Samaria, Idaho and then moved to Burley where Mr. Davis was engaged in stock raising and real estate.

During World War 1 Mrs. Davis headed the Red Cross work in Burley. She served as a member of the LDS Relief Society presidency and was president of the Primary Assn and YWMIA. She had lived in Salt Lake City since 1919 and had continued her activities as president of the Primary Assn. in Liberty LDS ward. She also held membership in the Relief Society in Emigration LDS ward and was active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Besides her husband she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Eva Eccles, South Gate, Calif.; Mrs. Pearl Wright, Mrs. Margaret Paul and Mrs. Lunna Targgert, Salt Lake City; two sons, Rulon H. Davis, Salt Lake City and Robert S. Davis, Inglewood, Cal.; three sisters, Mrs. Samuel B. Mitton, Mrs. Ida Elliason, Logan and Mrs. Evan Jenkins, Idaho Falls, Idaho; five brothers, William Hawnkins, Raft River, Idaho, Oswald T. and Jedediah Hawkins, Salt Lake City, Seth P. Hawkins, Ogden, and Irvin T. Hawnkins, Logan; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at 36 E. 7th South Wednesday evening, Thursday and Friday prior to service. Burial will be in Logan City Cemetery.
