Luana was born November 14, 1914, in Burley, Idaho, the daughter of William Gomer and Margaret Ann Hawkins Davis. She married Renold Laird Taggart on February 14, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1996. She worked many years for Dr. Stanley D. Neff and Dr. Scott Sharp.
She was a life time member of the Carrigan Camp of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. Luana was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings. She devoted twelve years to the extraction program. She crocheted afghans for all her children and grandchildren. She and her husband, Ren, enjoyed square dancing for many years. Luana was a kind and loving individual who enjoyed making people happy. She always had a special gift in making people laugh. She will be greatly missed and will always have a special place in our hearts.
Survivors include two daughters and one son, Viona (Gary) Nelson, Midvale, Utah; LuJean (Paul) Marsh, Mesa, AZ; Laird (Pam) Taggart, Centerville, Utah; 16 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18, 1997, 11:00 am, at the Stratford East Ward, 2605 South 1500 East. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
