Dale Edwin Hall, 59, of Harpers Valley community, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at Veteran's Hospital in Oklahoma City. Born Aug. 26, 1947, in Harpers Valley, he was the son of James Henry and Dorothy (Adams) Hall.

He graduated from Kiowa High School in 1965 and subsequently attended Oklahoma State University Okmulgee Tech, receiving a degree in automotive mechanics.

He married Stella Jones on Dec. 22, 1967, in Kiowa.

He entered the United States Army in 1968 and was assigned to VietNam in the 25th Infantry Division and earned the rank of sergeant. He received two Purple Hearts for injuries received in combat.

Following discharge from the Army, he attended Eastern Oklahoma State College and earned an associate degree in business administration. He retired from the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant as assistant fire chief in 2003, after working for 28 years. He was a member of Harpers Valley Baptist Church and the Kiowa Masonic Lodge No. 117.

Survivors include his wife, Stella Hall, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Raye Hall, of Ada, and Kimberlee and Bill Barrett, of Ada; his mother, Dorothy Hall, of Harpers Valley. Also, a brother and sister-in-law, Henry Lee and Deloras Hall, Grand Prairie, Texas; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Laquetta Hall, of Harpers Valley, Wanda and Larry Gill, of Harpers Valley, and Marlene and Mike Mackey, of Harpers Valley. And, his brothers-in-law and spouses, John and Kathy Jones, of Arcadia, William Jones, Oglesby, Texas, and Frank and Darlene Jones, Oglesby, Texas. And, his nieces, Leea (Hall) Shows, Tonya (Gill) Skillman, Vanessa Tanner, Stacy (Hall) Bates, Sherry (Mackey) Harbuck, and Hesper Jones; his great-nieces, Kathryn Gill, Emilee Bates and Adeline Skillman. And, his nephews, Guy Gill, Greg Mackey and Dustin Tanner; his great-nephews, Mitchel Shows, Brian Wade Skillman, Austin McCord, Hayden Gill and Carson Harbuck, and numerous cousins. Honorary pallbearers will be David Spears, David Cassell, Brent Davis, Bruce Solem, Ed Robinson, Larry Stiles, Don Mackey, and special recognition to the entire McAlester Army Ammunition Plant Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Wade Hall; his father, James Henry Hall; a brother, Harvey Don Hall; a great-niece, Reese Harbuck, and a nephew, James Darby Hall.

Graveside services: Wednesday at Harpers Valley Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Ragaer officiating. The eulogy was by the Rev. Brent Davis. Military honors were given by Robert B. Thomas Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1098 and Masonic services by the Kiowa Masonic Lodge No. 117.
