Nanette worked for the Gerber Products Company for 35 years and retired in 1994. She spent her life in serving God, her family, her church and others. She was a member of Arden First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Dowdle is survived by her sons, Michael Dowdle and wife, Dawn of Weaverville, Terry Dowdle and his wife, Najat of Arden, sisters, Frances Ball of Asheville, Jean Hunter of Birmingham, Alabama, Virginia Tweed of Hendersonville and Vivian Scott of Fletcher. She is survived by two grandchildren, Levi Dowdle and Shavon Yeager.
A graveside service for Nanette will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Pisgah View Cemetery in Candler with the Rev. G. Scott Lynch officiating.
