Hazel E. Fuchs, 87, of 1200 E. Partridge, Metamora, formerly of Minonk, died at 3:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

She was born March 10, 1915, at Hudson, a daughter of John and Ardella Hospelhorn Bigger.

She married Harold C. Fuchs Sr. on July 9, 1947, at Manchester, Iowa. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Harold C. (Joyce) Fuchs Jr., Bartonville; John A. (Becky) Fuchs, Minonk; and Kenneth E. (Lisa) Fuchs, Marquette Heights; a sister, Gladys Krug, El Paso; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, four brothers and a great-grandson.

Mrs. Fuchs was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk and the Roanoke American Legion Post 463 Auxiliary. She was formerly employed by Foster & Gallagher in Peoria, retiring in 1980.

Private graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Minonk Township Cemetery, the Rev. Daniel Gansch-Boyle officiating. There will be no visitation. Calvert-Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Safe Haven Unit at Snyder Village, Metamora.
