The son of pioneers Aloys and Mary Tschumperlin, the deceased was born here July 10, 1873 and after his schooling here became associated with his father in the furniture [A. Tschumperlin Furniture Co.] and undertaking business in 1892. In 1895 he became the owner and operator of the business that his father established in 1873. In 1928 the furniture business was discontinued. During World War I, he served with the Minnesota National Guard. He was a member of the district, state and national Funeral Directors association. He was a member of Kiwanis, American Red Cross, Elks, St. Cloud Country Club, Chamber of Commerce, Eagles lodge and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.

He and the former Elizabeth McLaughlin were married Aug. 15, 1907. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. James Colliton (Margaret) of Grand Junction, Colo., and three grandchildren; a brother, Raymond, St. Paul and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Jones, St. Paul and Ethel Tschumperlin, Minneapolis.
