Obituary:

Walter Lawrence Dzialo, “Larry”, age 84 of Stratford, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2010 in CT Hospice in Branford. Born in West Springfield, MA to the late Walter and Anna (Antoni) Dzialo, he has been a long time Stratford resident. Larry also known as “Whitey” was a veteran of the US Army during WW II. He was a retired Stereotyper with the CT Post with over 40 years of service and was a volunteer at the Baldwin Senior Center, the Sikorsky Archives, the Train Museum at Booth Park and worked on the VS44 Project-Restoration of Flying Boat. Larry enjoyed playing softball, bowling and golf. He was an avid Red Sox fan and thrilled to have been alive to see them win not 1 but 2 championships in his lifetime. He was a lector, collector and money counter at St. Mark Church and a member of the White Eagles, Polish Falcons, Polish Union of America and the Marion Movement of Priests Rosary Group. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years Cecilia Magdon Dzialo: his children Laura Otzel and her husband Michael of Bridgeport, Karen Stempel and her husband Arthur of Milford, Stephen Dzialo Sr and his wife Linda of Stratford and Janet Baranyai and her husband Edward of Stratford; his grandchildren Michael, Elizabeth and Andrew Otzel, Lauren Saldamarco and her husband Michael, Stephen Dzialo Jr., Edward Baranyai (Stephanie Luedee), Cecilia (Ceci) Baranyai and his 2 great grandchildren Sophia Saldamarco and Aubrey Baranyai. Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11 am in St Mark RC Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery Stratford.
