The son of William and Rebecca Ledford Jones Conalley. Before the Civil War he bought Haymarket in Nottoway County, and rebuilt the house. He lived there for a number of years. Dr. Connalley married Sallie Fletcher Jones. He was a physician of note and was graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia on 29 March 1848. He had a large family of children. Dr. Connalley was the first captain of the Nottoway Grays. In 1870 he was an Osteopathic Physician in Nottoway County. He was disinterred from the Connally Family Cemetery pursuant to the 1941 expansion of Fort Pickett.
