Jeannette (Brewer) Pyle Welch

Jeannette Brewer Welch of Vero Beach, Florida died peacefully at home on November 1, 2015.

Born in Boston, Mrs. Welch grew up in Brookline, MA, attending Windsor and Beaver Country Day Schools, and lived for many years in Boston and Brookline before moving to Vero Beach.

An avid golfer, she especially enjoyed her time playing in women’s senior tournaments. She travelled extensively all her life, circumnavigating the globe eight times.

Mrs. Welch was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants, and a longtime member of The Country Club in Brookline and the Chilton Club of Boston.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas D. Welch of Boston; her first marriage to Charles M. Pyle, Jr ended in divorce.

She is survived by her son, Charles McAlpin Pyle III, and his wife, Sarah Hibbard Pyle, of Francestown, NH and step-children Thomas D. Welch, Jr of Paia, HI, Frances Welch of Marblehead, MA, Evan Welch of Northwood, NH and Anne Bartol of Cotuit, MA. She also leaves nieces Dr. Martha Scott of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Frances Valaitis of Ontario, CA, Constance Webber of Wallingford, VT and Nancy Nightingale of Woodstock, VT.

She was predeceased by nieces Adele Durden of Silver City, NC and Jennifer Brewer of Boston, MA.
