Salt Lake City, Utah-Our mother, grandmother and great grandma passed away on June 13, 2013. Barbara was born on May 25, 1920 in Fielding, Utah to Clifford Welling and Millie Marie Adams Welling.
She grew up in Fielding and graduated from Bear River High School and Utah State Agriculture College in Logan, Utah. She moved to Salt Lake City where she graduated as a Registered Nurse October 8, 1944 from the LDS Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at LDS Hospital and Primary Children's Hospital. Barbara married Frank Lewis Gardiner July 25, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was an active member of Waterloo Ward serving in many church positions. She enjoyed her 24 years serving in the Primary Organization with children and co-workers. She was an active member of the D.U.P. Woodruff Camp. Barbara loved to read and instilled the love of reading in her grandchildren. She spent many hours at the Genealogical Library searching through English Parish Registers for the ancestral records. Frank passed away February 13, 2008 at 93 years of age.
Barbara is survived by a brother N. Lavere (Mary Ellen) Welling. Her son Lewis LaVere (Sharon) Gardiner, 6 Grandchildren; Christa (Brett) Antzcak, Alicia (Steven) Braegger, Steven Lewis (Angela) Gardiner, Bethanie (Stephen) Peterson, Gareth Lance (Anna) Gardiner, Britnie (Brian) Olsen, and 13 Great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at Noon, Monday June 17, 2013 at the Waterloo Ward, 1623 East 500 South. Friends may call Sunday June 16, 2013 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
