Hallick Cantrell, 84, of Greenup, died
Saturday in Three Rivers Medical Center in
Louisa. Mr. Cantrell was born November 25,
1912, in Johnson County, a son of the late
Shade and Virgie Owens Cantrell. He also
was preceded in death by his wife Polly
Cantrell; four daughters, Versie Miller,
Berthie Cantrell, Jean Cantrell and Patsy
Cantrell; and two sons J. Cantrell and
Jerry Lee Cantrell. He was a self-employed
farmer. Surviving are four sons, Orville
Cantrell and David Cantrell, both of
Greenup, Johnny Cantrell of Delaware,
Ohio, and Chester Cantrell of Troy, Ohio;
five daughters, Gertrude Hunt and Gladys
Davis, both of Marion, Ohio, Virgie Lou
Farris of Laura, Ohio, Mabel Valdez of
Columbus, Ohio and Ruth Evans of Troy;
three brothers, Claude Cantrell of
Miamisburg, Ohio, and Clarence Cantrell
and Winfred Cantrell, both of Enon, Ohio;
35 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren;
and four great-great-grandchildren. The
funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Tuesday at Wright's Funeral Home in
Greenup by Tommy Melvin. Burial will be in
Crockett Cemetery. Friends may call after 6
p.m. today at the funeral home
