Chester Mounts, age 83, of Okeechobee died July 31,2006 at Raulerson Hospital. Mr. Mounts was born October 15,1922 in Newhall, WV to Edward and Lilly Mounts. He was a construction worker having come to Okeechobee from Hollywood in 1980. Mr. Mounts proudly served our country in the U.S Army during World War II. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon with 2 bronze starts and the Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW.

Mr. Mounts is survived by two sons, Chester "Chet" (Jackie) Mounts of Old Saybrooke, CT and Loren E. (Debby) Mounts of Valrico, FL; brother, Wayne Mounts of West Virginia; three sisters, Pearl Mounts of North Carolina, Vicie Mounts of North Carolina and Bertie Mounts of Cornwell, CT; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family has decided not to hold services.

All arrangements are entrusted to the loving care of the Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home and Crematory.
