Ruth Mary Fultz (nee Mounts), 82, of Atwell Mountain, West Virginia passed away February 27, 2012, in Gastonia, North Carolina, where she has resided for the past few years. Ruth was born in 1929 at her parents' home in Atwell Mountain, West Virginia. Ruth loved everyone and was loved by all. She loved going to church, taking long walks, sitting out in the sunshine and never met a stranger. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Fultz; her parents, Edward and Lillie Mounts; her sisters Dora Mounts Davidson and Lexie Mounts Zimmerman; her brothers: Elmer Mounts, Chester Mounts, Allen Mounts, French Mounts and Ernest Mounts. Survivors include one daughter and two sons; Anita Fultz Smith and her husband Bill of Gastonia, North Carolina; Frankie Shirley and his wife Amy of Gastonia, North Carolina and Robert Shirley and his wife Veronica of Avondale, West Virginia. Two grandsons: Arber Addair and his wife Kristie of Doran, Virginia and Johnathan Shirley of Mt. Airy, North Carolina. Two great grandchildren Alexis and Arber Addair, Jr. Survived also by her siblings: Pearl Mounts Beavers of Belmont, North Carolina; Birdie Mounts Sweeny of Bradshaw, West Virginia; Wayne Mounts and his wife Marie of Atwell Mountain, West Virginia and Ethel Mounts Reagan of Cromwell, Connecticut and her Niece Georgia Salisbury and her husband Dan of Belmont, North Carolina and her great nieces Miss Kyra Salisbury and Miss Amaya Salisbury. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 12 noon by Pastor Charlie Barker at Shortridge Cemetery at Atwell Mountain, West Virginia.
