Raymond Eugene Calcote was born in Wellington, Texas to John D. Calcote and Jewel Young Calcote. He died on August 12, 2015 in Tyler, Smith County, Texas and is survived by his children, Dale Raymond Calcote, Billy Eugene Calcote, Barbara Calcote Skeen, Michael Dewain Calcote, and Randy Calcote. Raymond received the Country Gospel Comedian of the Year award several times for the San Juan County, NM area. He was very active in the ministry of sharing his testimony through his songs. He wrote and recorded many songs which touched the hearts of many people.
