Funeral services to Celebrate the Life of Jeanette Peck, 71, a resident of Montpelier will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2006 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 333 W. Lotte Street, Blue Grass, Iowa. Burial will be in Montpelier Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home.
Jeanette died on Monday, May 15, 2006 at her residence in Montpelier. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed following an extended and courageous battle with cancer.
Medrith Jeanette Bird was born November 24, 1934 in Muscatine, Iowa a daughter of Les and Medrith (Richards) Bird. She was united in marriage to Robert Lawrence Peck, they have celebrated over Fifty-four years of marriage and were blessed with a daughter and two sons.
She had been employed at the Davenport Lutheran Home for many years.
Jeanette was very proud of her family she even stated in writing, "I want to thank you all for what a beautiful family and life I've had, I love you all."
She is survived by her loving husband, Bob, Montpelier; and children and their families, a son Robert Owen and Elizabeth Peck, Montpelier, and their son, Douglas Robert Peck, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, VA; and their daughter, Jamie Renee Peck, Montpelier; a son, Thomas Eugene Peck, Muscatine, Iowa and his special friend, Michelle; and his children, Melissa Marie (Mrs. Matt) Durst and Stephanie Jo Peck, all of Blue Grass, Iowa; and daughter, Susan Jeanette and Louis Leroy Hutchison, Walcott, Iowa, and their daughters, Toni Lynne (Mrs. Josh) Arkless, Teri Sue (Mrs. Mike) Ray, all of Davenport and Kelli Kristine Hutchison, of Walcott and their son, Louis Robert Hutchison, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, VA. as well as great grandchildren, Regan Grace and Braeden Leigh Arkless; Lauren Marie Durst and Karlee Ann Peck; her mother, Medrith and husband, Alvin Messinger; brothers, Dale (Lori) Bird, and Jerry Bird, all of Montpelier; sisters, Carol Soteros, Muscatine; and her sister and a best friend, Judy and Jerry Tucker, Montpelier; many nieces, nephews, cousins, her beloved cats and very special friends, Deloris, Rose, and Nancy; a sister-in-law, Mae Bird and a brother-in-law, Dick Peck.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Edgar Tony; Joseph "Bing"; and Marvin; a grandson, Bradley Thomas Peck; her daughter-in-law, Joan Marie Peck, and her father, Les. May they all rest in peace.
Memorials can be made to St. Andrew's Church or to the Brad Peck Memorial Scholarship Fund.
