Funeral services were held in White's Funeral Home, March 22, 1941, in Bellflower, California for Oley Edgar Beck, a former resident of Nocona and father of Mrs. Bryant McNew of this city, who died March 17, 1941 at his home in Bellflower, a suburb of Los Angeles, at the age of 57 years and 8 days.

He was born in Arkansas, March 9, 1884. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Glen H Julien of that city. Internment was made in the Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier City, also a suburb of Los Angeles. Mr. Beck moved from Nocona to Oklahoma in 1918, but for the past 14 years his home has been in California.

Survivors include ten children: S.C. Beck of Wilson, Okla., Myrtle Shores, also of Wilson, Ura McNew of Nocona, Asa Beck of Cimmarron, New Mexico, O.L. Beck of Vannyse, California, Alein Pelletier and Dwight Beck of Bellflower, Lesley Beck of Susanville, California, Stephen Beck of Los Angeles and Etta Belle Harrison of Stockdale, Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Dave Molsbee of the Molsbee Chapel community and a brother, Asa Beck of Oklahoma City. All of his children were able to attend except Mrs. Harrison of Stockdale. The friends of Mrs. McNew and Mrs. Molsbee wish to extend their sincere sympathy in their loss.
