Jul Pederson was born July 29, 1903 to Julius and Caroline (Knutson) Pederson at Lily. He moved with his parents to Hetland and later to Arlington, He worked at road construction and threshing in his youth. He later worked for a packing plant in Sioux City, Iowa, and for a salvage company in Racine, Wisconsin. He then farmed and did carpentry work and retired to a home on Lake Poinsett. He married Ella Bauman on Dec. 5, 1936 at Brookings. Mr. Pederson was a member of the Hamlin Sportsman’s Club and served as president for one year and secretary/treasurer for 17 years. Mr. Pederson died Jan. 10, 1994, in a Watertown hospital.

Survivors include his wife of Lake Poinsett, five sisters, Alice Sprague of Pierre, Mrs. Ellen Larson of Fort Pierre, Esther Reich of Nampa, Idaho, Phyllis Wakeman of Yankton and Mrs. Joyce Kneip of Arlington.
