BALDWYN – Billy Joe Copeland passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at NMMC Hospice Unit after a short illness. He was a cattle farmer, retired dairy farmer and he was a business man and enjoyed listening to gospel music. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the Mississippi National Guard and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Oneal Butler and Bro. Johnny Hale officiating. Bro. Stanley Shook will be in charge of the music for the service. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Copeland of Baldwyn; eight children, Charlotte Brown of Saltillo, Mike Scott of Mooreville, Deborah Hale (Jimmy) of Mooreville and Kathy Donahue (Jeff) of Guntown, Donnie Scott (Angie) of Saltillo, Cornelia "Molly" Mauney (Tim) of Pleasant Ridge, Connie Jones of Baldwyn and Jim Smith of Columbus; 24 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and four great-great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Copeland; his parents, William and Alma Chisholm Copeland; and a brother, Elton "Cowboy" Copeland,

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Scott, Donnie Scott, Derrick Scott, Rex Coggins, Larry Kendall, Taylor Moore, Clint McNinch, Wesley Shelley, Bobby Jennings and John Hamblin.
