At the age of 61 and 62, her parents left France on L'Amitié, the fifth of the Seven Ships, which reached New Orleans in 8 November 1785. Travelling with them was one daughter named Marguerite (20 years old) and Marie-Josephte's nephew, Fabien-Amateur Guillot (20 years old) and Alexi's cousin, Jean-Charles Gautrot (22 years old). Marie Guillot is the daughter of Rene Guillot dit L'Angevin and Marguerite Doiron.
