Obituary - Louisa Bingham Peters, 81. Succumbs At Brigham City Home
BRIGHAM CITY, Feb. 8. -- Mrs. Louisa Bingham Peters, 81, widow of John D. Peters and mother of former State Senator John W. Peters, died at the family home, 13G West Forest street, at six-fifteen Thursday evening. Mrs. Peters had been ill for three months. She had resided in Brigham City for 40 years and in Perry for 35 years.
She was born in a covered wagon while crossing the plains with the Mormon pioneers, June 22, 1853, in what is now the state of Nebraska.
Her father was Levi Perry Bingham of Oswego, New York, her mother was Sarah Elisabeth Lusk Green of Illinois.
Mrs. Peters had been active in L. D. S. church work, having held positions in the Relief society, Sunday schools and Primary association.
She married John David Peters, Nov. 22, 1869, in the Endowment house, Sale Lake City.
She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Sarah P. Stohl, of Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Emellne P. Watkins. Mrs. Laura P. Iverson of Salt Lake City: John W. Peters, Mrs. Mamie P. Call, Mrs. Elsa P. Christensen. of Brigham City: Mrs. Lois P. Macisen of Blackfoot, Idaho. There are 41 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Martin Henderson of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Theodora Monroe of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held In the L. D. S. Third ward chapel at twelve noon Sunday. Interment will be made in the city cemetery.
