Mrs. Helen Ross Horlbeck Carleton, 86, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday October 3, 2014 at her home in La Porte, IN.
She was born September 11, 1928 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Walter Ross and Mable (Popka) Ross.
Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid reader.
She was married to Elmer Horlbeck and John Carleton who have preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debra (Ron) Vlietstra of La Porte, IN, Kim Fasano of Joliet, IL; six grandchildren, Jennifer Vlietstra, Christy (Mark) Satoski, Anthony (Jessica) Fasano, Nick Fasano, John (Maggie) Adkins, Troy Adkins; seven great grandchildren, Nicole, Alex, Samantha, Giovanni, Isabella, Breanna, Jason; and a sister, Sandra Tarnow of La Porte, IN.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a daughter, Jana Adkins, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 10:00 am until time of the service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday October 7, 2014 at 1:30 pm with Dr. Joseph Loftis officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
