He was born February 10, 1925 in Laurel, IN, one of seven children of George and Elva Wyatt Wilson. A lifelong resident of Franklin County, he served with the U.S. Army and had been stationed in Korea.
On November 12, 1946, he was married in Laurel to Dora Casteel. Mrs. Wilson survives.
A lifetime Franklin County farmer, he had also been employed at Fisher Body in Hamilton, OH, and for over twenty years, was a school bus driver for Franklin County Schools.
Survivors besides his wife include four children, Mike Wilson of Laurel, Perry Wilson and wife, Vickie, of Metamora, Teresa Combs and husband, Clarence, of Connersville, and Jeff Wilson and wife, Barb, of Metamora; ten grandchildren, Mica Timmerman, Mikey Wilson and Missy Thompson, David and Jeremy Wilson, Jason and Justin Combs, and Bradley, Derrick and Jacob Wilson; seven great grandchildren, Allison and Katie Timmerman, Cody Wilson, Laine Russell, Tyler and Kylie Wilson, and Josh Wilson; two sisters, Virginia Fox of Rushville and Mildred Burch of Connersville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Wilson, and three sisters, Ruth Burch, Hazel Cornett and Mae Callihan.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Randy Edwards at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Elm Grove Baptist Church, 19290 Haytown Hill Road, where friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial, with military rites conducted by the Brookville American Legion Post #77, will be in Maple Grove Cemetery at Brookville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church.
