Jackson - Funeral services for Mrs. Joe W. Harvey, wife of a Cape Girardeau businessman and a member of a prominent Jackson family, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 at New McKendree Methodist Church here by the Rev. Edwin R. Saferite. Burial will be in Memorial Park. The body is at McCombs Funeral Home here. Mrs. Harvey, 70 years old, was killed in a traffic accident in Scott County Sunday night. Her husband, who has been in business for many years at Cape Girardeau, is proprietor of the Joe W. Harvey Refrigeration Service. Mrs. Harvey, the former Miss Helen McCombs was born in Jackson on Feb. 18, 1897, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. McCombs. Her father was president of the former Cape County Milling Co. for many years where Mrs. Harvey assisted in the mill's laboratory testing department. She received elementary education in the Jackson schools and graduated from Mary Institute in St. Louis. Mrs. Harvey was a lifelong member of McKendree Methodist Church and taught for many years in its Sunday School Nursery department. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter DJ and was serving as publicity chairman at the time of her death. On Dec. 23, 1964, she was married to Mr. Harvey, who survives.
