Son of James Ross, James Duncan Ross came to the US in 1855, lived and farmed in Littleton, Maine while raising his family with his wife Jane. He served in the US Army Co. E. Maine 15th Infantry Regiment during the Civil War and died of Kidney failure in 1899.
