ALICEVILLE | Heather Renee Garner-Brandon, age 29, of Aliceville, Ala., wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Randy Sudduth officiating. Burial will follow in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight, Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St. NE in Aliceville.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Garner; grandmother, Janell Jones; great-grandparents, Clyde and Ethel Wydel and Willis and Inez Jones.
Heather was a loving mother of two sons and a devoted wife. She is survived by her two sons, David Gage Brandon and John Tucker Brandon, who were the center of her world along with their father and her husband, Johnny Brandon III. She also leaves behind her mother, Jackie Garner Montgomery; two sisters, Brittany Clark and Taylor Montgomery; one nephew, Michael Cooper Jones; grandfather, Gilbert Jones and father-in-law, Johnny Brandon, Jr.
Heather was born December 16, 1984 in Columbus, Mississippi to the late Kenneth David Garner and Jackie Jones Garner Montgomery. She was a 2002 graduate of Pickens Academy and attended Aliceville Family Worship Center. Heather had an infectious smile. She was outgoing and kind hearted and was the best "Momma" in the world. Outspoken and sassy, Heather was always willing to do for others. She was the real MVP! She was an avid outdoors woman but at the end of the day, she was a nurturing, loving and caring companion.
Pallbearers will be Steven Holliman, Frank Blakney, Bud Blakney, Ed Virden, John Nichols and Michael Walker.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Steven Nichols, Huston Nichols, Andrew Baldy, McCoy Booth, doctors and staff of DCH T.I.C.U.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Children's Hospital, 1600 7th Avenue S., Birmingham, AL 35233.
