Minnie Sophia Jensen, 90, Kensington, died July 3, 2007 at Hoffman Good Samaritan Home.

Minnie was born September 18, 1916 to Anders and Amanda Enberg near Hoffman in Grant County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended country school for eight years and lived on various farms in Douglas and Grant counties.

Minnie was united in marriage to William "Bill" Jensen on October 6, 1937. From this union two children were born; Wanda and Marvin. After working two years on a dairy farm at Hastings, Bill and Minnie moved to a farm north of Kensington where they made their permanent home. In addition to her duties as a mother, wife and homemaker, Minnie was actively involved on the farm, helping with the fieldwork, raised chickens, and handled the bookkeeping duties. She was a member of Solem Lutheran Church for 67 years, holding church offices and helping with charitable causes. Minnie enjoyed making quilts, mittens and rugs for her family and relief efforts.

Minnie lived on the Jensen home farm until May 2006, when she became a resident at Hoffman Good Samaritan Care Center.

Her hard work, dedication to family, church and friends will always be a source of inspiration to us all.

Minnie is survived by her children, Wanda Kaplor of Hoffman, Marvin (Marlys) Jensen of Evansville; grandchildren, Michael (Pam) Kaplor, Mark (Jill) Jensen, Marie (Brian) LaFore, Marsha Jensen; great-grandchildren, Heather and Melissa Kaplor, Leah and Carter Jensen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anders and Amanda Enberg; husband, Bill; son-in-law, Pete Kaplor; great-grandson, Michael "Micky" Kaplor; brothers, Carl, Arnold, Orin, Ingvald, Ernest, Selmer and Adolph; sisters, Ora and Evelyn; and three infant siblings.

A funeral service was held July 9 at Solem Lutheran Church near Kensington with the Rev. Elaine Leone officiating. Mary Lou Smith was the organist and Jill and Leah Jensen provided special music.

Interment was at Solem Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Kaplor, Mark Jensen, Brian LaFore, Dennis Larson, Roger Larson and Rodney Affeldt.
