DIES AT 77
Mrs. Teodora Fierro, 77, a pioneer of Eddy County who came here in 1911 died Thursday in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the West Chapel with the Rev. Andras Viera of the Spanish Calvary Baptist Church of Roswell officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Catarina Cemetery.
Mrs. Fierro first came to Eddy County with her late husband from Ft. Davis, Tex., 42 years ago. They first made their home in Old San Jose and in 1912 they moved to Loving and farmed. A few years later they moved to La Huerta where they also farmed. Mrs. Fierro's husband died in 1939.
The body will lie in state at the West Funeral Home until the time of the funeral.
A member of the Spanish Baptist Church, Mrs. Fierro is survived by four sons, Ysmiel Fierro of Roswell, Corensencio Fierro of Carlsbad, Perferio Fierro of Dinuba, Calif., and Tomas Fierro of Carlsbad; four daughters, Mrs. Erniqueta Talavera, and Mrs. Maria F. Urquidez of Loving, Mrs. Sofia F. Urquidez of Roswell, and Mrs. Esther F. Vasquez of Carlsbad; four brothers, Teddora Granado, Francisco Granado, Edwardo Granado and Trinidad Granado, all of Ft. Davis, Texc., and a sister, Mrs. Juanita Martin of Carlsbad.
