Three members of a construction worker's family burned to death in a fire that swept through their mobile home two miles north of Deming.
Killed were James H. (Scottie) Craig, 29, a foreman for Brown Construction Co. of Albuquerque; and two of his children, Derrick Scott Craig 8, and Rowena Kathryn Craig 6.
Craig's wife, Dale, and a 2-year-old daughter, Melissa, escaped from the fire. They were in Mimbres Memorial Hospital at Deming with first and second degree burns on less than 10 per cent of their bodies.
Fire Chief C.C. Patton said the fire destroyed the 50-foot trailer. He said the cause of the blaze hadn't been determined.
