Of Chicago Heights, IL., passed away on Saturday, Decemeber 31, 2005 in St. Augustine, FL. He was born on November 1, 1920 in Worcester, Massachusetts to parents, Louis J. Provost, Jr., and Alice O. Gonyer. Mr Provost moved to Central Florida in 1997 from Chicago Heights, Illinois where he owned and operated a beer distributorship. Mr. Provost served honorable for the US Navy during historic attacks at Pearl Harbor aboard the USS Tucker. He was recognized for his valor on that day. Mr. Provost was responsible for international communications including receiving and dispatching Morse Code messages with the Japanese. Also known for his pen name, Gabriel, Mr. Provost wrote many articles and books of wit and fact & wisdom. Mr. Provost is survived by his six grandchildren, Richard Vayda, Kenneth Vayda, Brian Provost, Robert Provost, Deborah Romano and David Vayda, and seven great - grandchildren.
