He was admitted as an attorney in 1815, and served as town supervisor from 1826-1827; 1847-1849, and as town clerk from 1821-1823. He lived on Academy St. in Manlius Village. Edwards ran several mills at the waterfalls named after him off Pompey Center Road. Member of the vestry of Christ Church, Manlius from 1831 to 1874.
