OBITUARY :
HILDA MARY (CRILLEY) BYERS, 76, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 14 N. Potomac St., Waynesboro, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1992, in the home.

Born July 17, 1916, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Clarence B. and Cora Patterson (Ditch) Crilley.

She was the wife of the late David F. "Red" Byers, who ran a shoe repair shop on North Potomac Street. He died in 1978.

Mrs. Byers lived at the North Potomac Street residence since February 1959 until she entered the home.

She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, Waynesboro, and active in its Sunday School.

In the early 1960s, Mrs. Byers worked for Connie Sportswear and also at the South Mountain Restoration Center.

She is survived by one son and four daughters, Robert F. Byers, Josephine Stitely and Beckie Gaver, all of Waynesboro, Shirley Ketterman of Carlisle and Crystal Miller of Clinton, N.C., a foster son, Leonard E. "Chester" Shifflett, Jr., 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and four brothers and four sisters, Mary Lucas, Gladys Kriner, Clarence Crilley, Fern Pryor, Lorenzo Crilley, Hennetta Rowe and Clarence Ditch, all of Waynesboro, and Stanley Crilley of Iron Spring.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Calvary Assembly of God Church, 116 Snider Ave., Waynesboro, with the Rev. Walter Stuart officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the John Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Waynesboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Byers' name to Calvary Assembly of God Church, 116 Snider Ave., Waynesboro, Pa. 17268
