Mary E. Lucas Menges

Hanover - Mary Elizabeth (Crilley) Lucas Menges, 90, formerly of Waynesboro, passed away Sunday morning, April 22, 2018 in the Hanover Hospital.

Born November 11, 1927 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Clarence B. Crilley, Sr. and Lulu (Yingling) Crilley. Mrs. Menges was a graduate of Washington Township High School with the Class of 1946.

She and her husband, Clyde J. Menges, were married on April 5, 1997. Mr. Menges died in December 2006.

She was employed by Frick Company, Waynesboro, Lipton Tea Co. in Texas, Carroll Shoe Company in Littlestown, Fairfield Shoe Co., Fairfield, and Landis Machine Co., Waynesboro. She also did domestic work in the Waynesboro area for a number of years.

Mrs. Menges was a former member of Calvary Episcopal Church, Beartown, where she sang in the choir, served as treasurer and on the vestry. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Hanover, McSherrystown Senior Center and Hanover- Penn Chapter AARP # 2812.

She is survived by two daughters, Josephine R. Funt of Biglerville, and Sharon E. Adams of Hanover; one step-son, Philip Menges of York Springs; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fern Pryor of Beartown and Henrietta Rowe of Waynesboro; two brothers, Clarence B. "Jim" Crilley, Jr. of Zullinger, PA and Stanley Crilley of Fairfield; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Kriner; one brother, Lorenzo Crilley; a half-sister, Hilda Byers; and a half-brother, William Haugh.
