Mrs. John (Rosa) Svec, rural Alpena, died Thursday at St. John Regional Medical Center at the age of 77.
Rosa Vanek was born Feb. 4, 1898, to Joseph and Anna Vanek at Friend, Neb. She was married to John Svec, April 11, 1915, at Hardy, Neb. They moved to the Huron area in 1917 and to their present home in 1930.
Survivors are her husband, John, Alpena; one son, Harry, Brookings; one daughter, Mrs. Woodrow (Mildred) Wagner, Alpena; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emma Clark, Lebanon, Ore., Mrs. C.E. (Albena) Whitehill, Omaha and Mrs. Al (Mary) Baker, Mountain View, Calf.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters and one daughter Blanche in infancy.
