Obituary - George Ralph Dibble, 74, died at his home Friday, May 7, 1993 of cancer. He was born December 7, 1918, in Layton, Utah, a son of George Elliot and Ella Tolman Dibble.


He was married to Carmen Merrill on July 26, 1940, in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a lifelong resident of West Layton. Above all, he valued his family. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as a bishop, a member of a stake presidency, and most recently served as a sealer in the Ogden LDS Temple. He served a mission with his wife in the London LDS Temple, from 1983-1985. He was active in the agricultural community serving in various capacities. He was a loved and respected farmer.


Surviving are his wife, Carmen M. Dibble; seven children, Cleve M. Dibble (Barbara), Layton; Kent M. Dibble (Barbara Jean), Tempe, Ariz.; Ann (Mrs. Henry Dee Call), Bountiful; Marie (Mrs. Willis F. McComas), Walnut Creek, California; Jane (Mrs. James F. Hales), Fruit Heights; Ruth (Mrs. Brett F Wood), Highland; Ellen (Mrs. Tyler J. Cox), Layton; 29 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; also brothers and sisters, Charles E. Dibble, North Salt Lake; Ben T. Dibble, Phoenix, Ariz.; Jane Dibble Farrer, Logan.


Funeral services will be held Monday, May 10, at 2 p.m., at the West Gentile Chapel, 2120 West Gentile, Layton, with Bishop Daren Allred of the Layton 2nd Ward officiating. Friends may call at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, on Sunday, May 9, from 6-8 p.m. and Monday, at the church, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.


Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
