Gladys Ruth Branham Tinker, 78, of 618 S.R. 250, Vevay, near Fairview, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at her home.


She was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Worthville, Ky., the daughter of James Edward Branham and Annie Laura Mahoney. She lived in the Fairview community from her marriage to Robert William Tinker, April 16, 1945, until her death. She was the secretary of Tinker Implements near Fairview for many years. She was also a supply bus driver for the Switzerland County School Corporation for several years. She was a member of the Fairview Nightowls Home Ec Club, and the Fairview United Methodist Church.


Surviving are one daughter, Donna Jean Tinker of Fairview; two sons, Donald Wayne "Butch" Tinker of Fairview and Robert Lee "Pee Wee" Tinker of Pleasant; one sister, Esther Wooten of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oct. 12, 1999; one daughter, Lou Ann Tinker, Aug. 27, 1955; one son, Tommy Lynn Tinker, July 14, 1953; one niece; one nephew; one great niece; and her Mahoney grandparents, who raised her.


Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with burial in the Vevay Cemetery.


Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.


Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions in the deceased's name to the Fairview United Methodist Church; or the Switzerland County Emergency Medical Services. Cards are available at the funeral home.

Gladys Ruth Branham Tinker, age 78, of Fairview, Indiana died Sunday, January 16, 2005 at her residence. She was a native of Worthville, the daughter of the late James Edward Branham and Anna Laura "Annie" Mahoney, served as secretary of Tinker Implements, and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.


She is survived by one daughter, Donna Jean Tinker, Fairview, Indiana; two sons: Donald Wayne "Butch" Tinker, Fairview, Indiana; and Robert Lee "Pee Wee" Tinker, Pleasant, Indiana; one sister, Mrs. Bill (Esther) Wooten, Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Tinker, one daughter, Lou Ann Tinker; one son, Tommy Lynn Tinker and one sister.


Funeral services will be today (Wednesday, January 19) at 1 p.m. at Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay, Indiana. Rev. Arnold Cutter will officiate. Interment will be in Vevay Cemetery.


Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Fairview United Methodist Church of The Switzerland County EMS.
