Rachel Anne Ervin became the wife of George Henry Fulrath. Their children were Lewis Henry, twins Lillian May & Laura May, Charles Ervin, Ida Rachel and Rachel Anna. She was living with her daughter Rachel Anna (Fulrath) Yates in 1940 census, at Center Hill, which is where her brother - George Washington Ervin Jr. and their mother - Nancy Ann (Kline) Ervin-Gebhart, are interred, at the Center Hill Cemetery, a couple of hundred yards east of the Fulrath homestead.

There are errors in her 1940 census enumeration. Rachel owned her own home in 1940. The Charles Bruner listed above her, should be listed as being in his own household. The supplementary at the bottom of the page, incorrectly notes her father and mother being born in Illinois. Rachel's mother was definitely born in Pennsylvania and her father was very likely born there too.

According to her son's Lewis death certificate, birthplace of his mother, Rachel, was "Hagustown, PA". He most likely meant Hagerstown, Maryland, which is in the same valley, located just south of Chambersburg and Greencastle, Pennsylvania. However, Rachel's Illinois death certificate information above states she was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Rachel's father, George Ervin Sr., probably died before she and her mother and brother moved from Pennsylvania to Illinois. Quite possibly, George Sr. was a casualty of the Civil War, as his birth and death information has been elusive.

My grandmother Briggs notes said, "George Washington Ervin's and Rachel Ervin's grandfather on their mother's side was HENRY KLINE, who fought with George Washington in the Revolutionary War." This would seem to legitimize the naming of a grandson with the same first and middle name. Grandma Briggs notes also go on to say that "Henry Kline fought in the Battle of Trenton and marched Hessian soldiers back to Lancaster County where they were imprisoned there until the conclusion of the war." As well, notes state that "Henry Kline lived in Virginia, before and after the Revolutionary War." I have yet to find any hard evidence of the Revolutionary War claims that said Henry Kline was involved, although it is true about Hessian soldiers being interned in Lancaster County, until the conclusion of the war.
