Death Occurs at Home in Edford Following Long Illness
A host of relatives and friends were called to mourn the passing of Mrs. Adolph Ristau, which occurred at her home in Edford township, Monday night, February 28, 1927 at about 10 o'clock following an illness with diabetes. Mrs. Ida Neuman Ristau was born May 29, 1878, in Edford township. She was the daughter of John and Caroline Neuman. She received her education in the rural schools. Deceased was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical church in Edford, where she was confirmed. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid Society. Mrs. Ristau was beloved by all who came in contact with her. She was of a kindly, sacrificing disposition, a loving wife and mother. She was married to Adolph G. Ristau October 4, 1911, at St Peter's church. To this union four children were born, three sons passing away in infancy. One daughter, Caroline, survives with the bereaved husband. There also survives, the aged mother, Mrs. Caroline Neuman, of Geneseo and three brothers, Henry, Ernest and John Neuman, all residing in Edford township: five sisters, the Misses Minnie, Emma and Lena, of Geneseo and Mrs. Louise Neuman Hamann and Mrs. Mattie Neuman Miller, both of Edford township. The father preceded her in death about twelve years ago. Funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at St Peter's Evangelical church, Rev. A. Hosto officiating. A large concourse of relatives and friends were present at the last sad rites. Interment was in Edford cemetery.
